  1. Sediakan CD OS yang digunakan.
  2. Booting dari CD, setelah keluar jendela install pilih Repair Windows.
  3. Pilih konfigurasi lewat Command Prompt
  4. Setelah jendela Command Prompt muncul, silahkan ketik perintah-perintah berikut: bootrec.exe /fixmbr
  5. lalu Enter
    bootrec.exe /fixboot
  6. lalu Enter
  7. Restart
  8. Selesai

Apakah kamu mendapati adanya folder Windows.old dengan ukuran yang sangat besar? Folder Windows.old ini muncul setelah kamu melakukan upgrade Windows. Didalamnya berisi berbagai data sistem Windows sebelumnya dan bertujuan agar Windows kamu bisa direstore seandainya proses upgrade tidak berjalan mulus atau ada masalah setelah melakukan upgrade. Namun bagi kamu yang telah berhasil melakukan upgrade Windows tanpa mengalami masalah apapun, kamu bisa menghapus folder Windows.old ini untuk menambah beberapa GB freespace di hardisk kamu.

Pastikan Proses Upgrade Tidak Bermasalah
Sebelum menghapus Windows.old, pastikan terlebih dahulu proses upgrade kamu sudah sukses tanpa masalah. Hal ini karena setelah Windows.old dihapus maka kamu tidak bisa kembali lagi ke versi OS sebelum upgrade. Jika Windows kamu sesudah upgrade sudah bisa berjalan tanpa masalah, langsung saja lanjut ke step berikutnya untuk menghapus folder Windows.old.

Gunakan Disk Cleanup
  1. Klik kanan pada partisi system Local Disk(C:), setelah itu pilih properties.

  2. Setelah itu kamu bisa melihat menu yang bertuliskan Disk Cleanup, pilih menu tersebut.
